VICO goes TV

A new television star is born

In 2002, uma won the Austrian national prize of innovation in multimedia and e-business for the development of the interactive table VICO™. On this table, more than 20 people can simultaneously collaborate to create films and animations based on photographs and drawings.

If you want to grasp all the qualities of VICO, you need to experience it. This is how the idea of VICO TV emerged - a television programme in which a group of actors come together around VICO™. They can all simultaneously work with visual elements, be they newspaper articles, photographs or 3D figures. These elements can be moved around with the help of markers. Thereby, in each episode new funny films are created, which can be uploaded to the internet or sent to mobile phones while the show is still being broadcasted.

A possible application of VICO TV is a children's programme in which children would dress up as their favourite fairytale characters, have their photographs taken, and thereby find themselves as game pawns in VICO™. This enables children to design their own version of their favourite fairytales.

The application can also be used by sport commentators: Instead of the traditional interactive board to analyse interesting scenes of the game, VICO™ can be used as a means for an overall discussion of the match; an interactive sport show for soccer philosophers, male or female, which is both humourous and serious, and adapted to the medial habits of the audience.
